Write-Up

This touching documentary on the first ‘Activation Camp’ follows 8 students in Cape Town, as they embark on an experimental course aimed at nurturing, uplifting and strengthening young adults on the edge of professional life. What began as a fun way to meet others and share experiences, became a piercing journey into themselves, addressing issues such as self-love, awareness, courage and dealing with the past. Set at different locations, over the course of 9 weeks, the camp created a safe space for them to find out what they struggle with, what they are good at, and to guide them to be more aware, to look at things differently, and to gather strength. The outcome was remarkable.

The film is cathartic, emotional, honest. It’s a powerful statement that we can and we should do more to assist young adults in finding their identity and working through their issues. The film is a ‘love letter’ to the 8 students, admiring their will to work on themselves, to contribute to society, and to take things into their own hands. Enjoy ?.
